1922-1923 Imperforated Weaver & Smith issues

This is Anton Teetsov-letter to Monsieur Fritz Schlumbf to Mulhouse, France. There is a pair of imperforated 2 Mk Weaver & Smith issue from 1922. When you look at the backside of the envelope, you will find there also one 5 Mk imperforated. The total value of the stamps on the envelope is 30 Mk. Correct? Yes, because for the time period of 1.11.1922-31.12.1923 the postal fee for the foreign letter of <20 g. was 15 Mk. The registration fee (1.11.1922-31.1.1925) was also 15 Mk.

Frederico "Fritz" Schlumbf (February, 1906 - April 18, 1992) was a French industrialist of Swiss origins and an avid collector of automobiles. He is best known for the Schlumbf-collection housed at the Musee National de I'Automobile de Mulhouse. The Schlumbf-family moved to Mulhouse in 1908.

Here is the data of the imperforated 2 Mk: Day of Issue: 18.4.1922 Perforation: Imperforate Issued: 130 000

Here is the data of the imperforated 5 Mk: Day of Issue: 18.4.1922 Perforation: Imperforate Issued: 130 000

The next registered letter is from Hermann Raid from Vändra (17.XI.1923) to Hernn Karl Wetzel to Leipzig (arrival 20.11.1923). During 1.11.1922-31.12.1923 the postal fee for the foreign letter of 21-40 g. was 22,50 Mk. The registration fee (1.11.1922-31.1.1925) was 15 Mk. 37,50 mk is the correct fee.

Here is the data of the imperforated 2½ Mk: Day of Issue: 10.4.1922 Perforation: Imperforate Issued: 130 000

Next is the registered air mail letter to London/Forest Hill from Tallinn 22.XI.1927 and on this envelope there is one imperforated 9 Mk Weaver & Smith with some other stamps. Is this 9 Mk imperforated rare or not? It is quite rare because only 59800 stamps were issued.
Here is the data of the imperforated 9 Mk: Day of Issue: 18.4.1923 Perforation: Imperforate Issued: 59 800

As told, this is the registered air mail letter to London/Forest Hill from Tallinn 22.XI.1927 and the arrival in Forest Hill is 26. November, 1927. The letter seems to be genuine. The handbook says: 1) Air Mail stamps should always be together with regular stamps and 2) Flown Air Mail covers with correct postage are scarce.

Let us see how is the situation with this envelope: for the time period of 1.2.25–31.12.1927 the registration fee of the foreign letter was 20 Mk and the postal fee (for the same period) of the 20 gr. letter was also 20 Mk. Thus 40 Mk is correct fee. However, how about the air mail supplementary fee? It is not correct: during 23.7.1923 – 31.12.1927 foreign letter (20 gr.) air mail fee was  20 Mk

This is good to remember: these final air mail stamps were valid until April 15, 1928. Thereafter the airmail supplementary fee was to be covered by regular stamps.
