1936 Pirita



These stamps were designed for “Commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Nunnery of St. Brigitta”. Please, observe this: Valid: June 10, 1936 - December 31, 1936.

Handbook: “According to an agreement between the GPO and the GPW of December 11, 1935, all unsold remainders of commemorative stamps were to be returned to the GPW, who were entitled to handle the sale of the remainders and thereby to cover the original cost of printing. GPW offered Pirita stamps to the public several times after 1936”.
