The next 10 items below - Collection of Estonian Air Mail Forgeries - described here belonged before to the Estonian philatelist Vambola Hurt. After his death the collection was handed to an Estonian collector who does not want his name to be published. However, he has permitted this collection to be published on this blog.
Vambola Hurt (December 28, 1926, Otepää - January 12, 2008 in Stockholm) was the very famous Estonian philatelist. His stamp collection he started in 1937 when being 11 years old. His first collection covered the whole Estonia. Later on, during the years 1987-2002, he was the chairman of the Estonian Philatelic Society in Sweden. Vambola Hurt (28.12.1926, Otepää – 12.1.2008 Tukholma)
oli kuuluisa virolainen postimerkkeilijä. Postimerkkeilyn hän aloitti vuonna 1937 ollessaan siis 11-vuotias. Hänen ensimmäinen kokoelmansa oli koko Viro. Hän oli Viron filatelistit Ruotsissa-seuran puheenjohtaja vuosina 1987–2002.
Hän opiskeli Tukholman yliopistossa vuodesta 1948 lähtien. Tässä on hieman mallia

About the above item Vambola Hurt
writes: The 1923 AIR MAIL OVERPRINT: Stamps complete forgery, Air Mail Label
issued in 1928. Postmarks and R-marking of Pääskylä are genuine. The arrival
postmark of Riga is forgery.
Obs: the handbook says: Pääskula post-office was opened 3.9.1925 and this postmark cancellation is from May, 1924. It is possible that the real cancellation equipment was a real one but in wrong hands. The same Pääskyla stamp is quite known with this kind of forgeries. All the stamps belong to the production of Simpson-Kull organization.

Here the story is repeated as before: stamps complete forgery, Air Mail Label
issued now in 1927. Tallinna stamp is also a total forgery; a single letter in the stamp is missing. The arrival cancellation of Berlin C is evidently a forgery, too. All the so called stamps belong to the production of Simpson-Kull organization.

With what magic Vambola Hurt was able to say the 10 Mk overprint above is a forgery? Yes, evidently he found out that the alignment of the OPT is not correct (too much on left) or something else. What we learn about this case? Well, that in the forgery business everything is possible!

The colour variation on these 20 Mk forgeries above is remarkable. One reason is that the paper is quite different in every case. I vote they all belong to the different printing set.
